During the 2025 Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, Rugby For Good (RFG) and Hong Kong China Rugby (HKCR) have solidified a transformative three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their collaborative efforts in using rugby as a catalyst for education, empowerment and community development. The agreement unites RFG’s grassroots expertise with HKCR’s leadership in the sport, aiming to create measurable social impact across Hong Kong.

A Commitment to Community and Inclusion
Under the MoU, RFG becomes HKCR’s Official Charity and Social Impact Partner. Key initiatives include:

  • Event Access for Underserved Groups: Priority opportunities for RFG beneficiaries to attend flagship events like the Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens

  • Sustainability Initiatives: Collaborative projects to advance environmental and social sustainability in rugby programmes

  • Collaborative Project and Event Delivery: RFG will support HKCR in managing the implementation and outcomes of funded initiatives, ensuring alignment with social impact goals. This includes co-delivering events such as the Hong Kong Sport & Sustainability Summit and Value of Sport Lunch to integrate community engagement themes
